Pray the Year was launched with a simple goal in mind: to help families enter into the life of Christ by praying together throughout the Church's liturgical calendar.
By signing up for Pray the Year families will receive 8 prayer resources each year, corresponding with the changes in the liturgical seasons. A few days before the start of a new season you will receive an email containing
- A brief explanation of the liturgical season
- Ideas for a celebrating the season as a family
- A short family prayer you can print out and use at home
- Links to other helpful resources
who is behind Pray the Year?
Hi! My name is Jonathan Sullivan and for the past eight years I have worked in faith formation and evangelization. During that time I have grown increasingly convinced that helping families celebrate the mysteries of our faith -- especially through the cycle of the liturgical seasons -- is a key method for ensuring that our children not only learn the content of our Catholic faith, but build the habits of faith that will help them come to know Jesus for a lifetime.
My wife, Bethany, and I have been married for 16 years and have been blessed with seven children. We currently live in north central Indiana where I serve as the executive director of evangelization, education, and worship for the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana.
I write regularly for a variety of Catholic publications and have spoken at the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership, National Catholic Educational Association, and the Gigs, Geeks, and God conference, as well as at various diocesan events around the country.
